Our adoption "journey" has been a rather long one with many twists and turns along the way. Our first enquiry regarding inter-country adoption was in January 2001 and following a lot of prayer we felt guided to adopt a baby from China. The formal process commenced 2004 and after various studies, interviews and courses we were finally "approved" in March 2006. Then after just a little more paperwork our application went to China in October 2006. The official date our file was "logged in" in China was 20 October 2006, this is referred to as our LID (log in date).
In March 2013 our LID date was included in the batch that were "matched" to a baby and we were thrilled to receive details of the child with whom we had been matched. Within less than a week however that joy was replaced by deep anguish as (for reasons I won't get into) we were unable to proceed with that match. We have reentered the process and are waiting to be matched again...................to be continued..........
